Build Everything From Scratch Crystal Radio

All
"Homebrewed" or "Homemade"

This Page (Project) Is Not Fishished. It May Be Some Time Before It Is.
So Please Understand This Radio Can't Be Built Unless You Know A Little
About Crystal Radios Already. It Will Show You How To Build Some Of The
Basic Parts Which Can Be subsituted For The Parts In the Radio On This Page.

The idea here it to be able to construct a crystal radio with parts fabricated right at home. This can get complicated in some areas of the radio as it is difficult to get some items needed. Also some parts of the radio are very complicated and detailed.

We will attempt to simplify the parts as much as possible so we can "homebrew" or make them at home (as much as possible).

Lets Start with the "Coil"

As this is the easiest part of the radio to obtain parts for, we will start here.
to go to the page on "how to build the coil".

Next The "Variable Capacitor"

This is the next easiest part to obtain parts for. Almost all the parts are from items from around you house right now.

to go to the "Homebrewed Variable Capacitor" web page.

Now For The "Detector"
The "detector" or "Catswisker" is a little harder to find materials for, but still fairly easy to build. Several different type of detectors are shown here.
To go to the "homemade" or "homebrewed" detector web page.

Last The "Earphone"

Let's Assemble The Radio
